La transformation d'une ancienne fabrique de bougies en logements sociaux à Anderlecht trouve son origine dans la rénovation urbaine du quartier Heyvaert, qui vise à remodeler les espaces publics le long de la rivière Senne, qui a été couverte au XIXe siècle pour faire place à un besoin croissant de mobilité. Situé à l'angle de deux environnements différents, le projet agit comme pivot de cette dualité, générant une nouvelle articulation entre la rue typique de Bruxelles et le futur parc de la petite Sennett, chaque façade interagissant avec son environnement immédiat. Le rez-de-chaussée accueillera une fonction publique déterminée lors d'un processus participatif dans le but de renforcer ce futur lien.
The transformation of a former candle factory into social housing in Anderlecht finds its root in the urban renovation of the Heyvaert district, which aims to reshape the public spaces along the Senne River, which was covered in the 19th century to make way for a growing need for mobility. Located at the corner of two different environments, the project acts as pivot for this duality, generating a new articulation between the typical Brussels Street and the future park of la petite Sennett, with each facade interacting with its immediate environment. The ground floor will host a public function determined during a participatory process with the aim of strengthening this future link.
